So…you ever heard of Reddit’s shadowbans? Yep. I got shadowbanned.
Why is Reddit’s ban system designed like this? I don’t know. Is it bloody annoying? It sure is.
I know there’s a good reason for Reddit to insist on shadowbans and all. Bots are a real pain for anyone with a website where anyone can post.
…but r/ShadowBan wouldn’t exist if the users weren’t super annoyed with your nonsense, Reddit. There’s users with years of history getting shadowbanned. Users with lots of contributions…shadowbanned. New users looking to join Reddit for the first time…you guessed it, shadowbanned.
Recently getting unshadowbanned on Reddit is either so easy people just don’t document it or so hard barely anyone manages, because that’s what I’m seeing on places like the aforementioned r/ShadowBan.
It’s a bit of a shame so much of the web is around Reddit with how the platform has declined ever since…well, the API debacle.
I have a lot of other thoughts on Reddit’s shadowbans in general…but honestly? I’ll keep those thoughts to myself.
If you’re saying I make no sense…you know what, yeah I agree. I really am just dumping my thoughts out here.
…alright, that’s all I have to say on this. I’ll…probably post more on here in the future, so uh, there’s that? I guess? Whether it’s good or not is still to be seen, but well, what could possibly go wrong, right?
…right?
